Estructura factorial e invarianza del cuestionario de nomofobia (NMP-Q) en estudiantes universitarios de Venezuela

Se estudia la nomofobia, un miedo patológico a estar sin contacto con el teléfono inteligente (TI), fenómeno emergente en estudiantes universitarios debido a la alta digitalización y dependencia tecnológica. Se destaca la necesidad de un instrumento adaptado culturalmente para medición válida y fiable en Venezuela. Se aplicó el cuestionario NMP-Q original (20 ítems) a 398 estudiantes universitarios venezolanos (edad 17-25 años). Se realizaron análisis factorial exploratorio y confirmatorio para evaluar la estructura y validez factorial, junto a pruebas de invarianza por sexo y edad. Se ajustaron modelos teóricos para definir la estructura factorial más adecuada. Se propuso una versión reducida de 13 ítems (NMP-Q-13), con un modelo jerárquico de segundo orden que agrupa cuatro dimensiones: Sentimientos de limitación, Sentimientos de incomodidad, Necesidad de comunicación y Necesidad de información. Este modelo mostró mejores índices de ajuste estadístico y consistencia interna alta. Se demostró invarianza estricta por sexo y edad, indicando validez transcultural. La adaptación cultural del NMP-Q para estudiantes venezolanos es válida y confiable. La nomofobia se conceptualiza como un constructo multidimensional con una estructura jerárquica sólida, aportando una herramienta útil para la evaluación e intervención en contextos académicos y clínicos venezolanos. Este estudio refuerza la comprensión global del fenómeno en la juventud universitaria.
