Escala de nomofobia: propiedades psicométricas y asociación con sexo, bienestar eudaimónico y ajuste escolar en adolescentes venezolanos

La nomofobia (miedo a no tener el celular) es un fenómeno psicológico actual derivado del uso del teléfono móvil. Por esto, el objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar las propiedades psicométricas del NMP-Q (No Movil Phobia Questionnarie), así como determinar su asociación con el sexo, el bienestar eudaimónico y el ajuste escolar. Para ello se encuestó intencionalmente a 803 adolescentes venezolanos, donde el 54% eran mujeres y cuya edad promedio fue de 14 años. A través del Análisis Factorial Confirmatorio se obtuvo evidencia de adecuado ajuste en el modelo de medida con cuatro dimensiones (CFI > .95 y RMSEA < .05), invarianza factorial según sexo (ΔCFI y ΔRMSEA <.01) y fiabilidad apropiada en el cuestionario (α y Ω > .75). Respecto a las asociaciones, las mujeres mostraron mayor nivel de nomofobia que los hombres (d > .30), además se encontró que las dimensiones del bienestar: control de situaciones y aceptación, así como el desajuste escolar se relacionaron de manera baja y negativa con algunas dimensiones de la nomofobia (r entre .10 y .20; p < .01). Se comentan estos hallazgos y se sugieren recomendaciones para futuras investigaciones.
